Write an essay about how you would use $100,000 to help others and you could win a chance to do just that with the IKEA Life Improvement Sabbatical Contest.
If you ever dreamed of changing your life and someone else’s, this is one big opportunity.
What: Hoping to help people who want to help others is the goal for the newly-launched Life Improvement Sabbatical Contest. It offers one person the chance to win a year-long sabbatical (worth $100,000) to advance a project that improves the life of others. Whether you’d like to volunteer at a homeless shelter or start a non-profit organization, this contest provides the winner the opportunity to pursue their passion.
When: You have until Nov. 8 to submit your Life Improvement proposal. Five finalists will be chosen from submissions by a panel of judges, and announced on Dec. 13. But the big winner will be chosen by public vote, and announced on January 31, 2011.
If you win, you’ll begin your sabbatical with three days at a luxurious spa resort in Phoenix, AZ. During your stay, O Magazine’s resident life coach, Dr. Martha Beck, will meet with you one-on-one to help develop your action plan and focus your goals (one of the services we offer at yourSABBATICAL). Beck’s guidance will continue over the course of the sabbatical through the form of 3 follow-up phone sessions.
The contest is part of IKEA’s national program, The Life Improvement Project, to inspire people to create a better everyday life at home and in their communities.
